About the use of funds
Mr. Orlanso Delogu is a Plaintiff in the case, and is helping his fellow Plaintiffs by organizing the fundraising efforts to advance the case. All funds go directly to a trust account administered and supervised by Mr. Delogu and the Plaintiffs.
Your donation will be applied 100% to the costs of ligation. None of your donation will be diverted to promotion, fundraising, public relations or any other purpose other than winning the case. Please be advised that you are donating strictly to fund litigation, not to support a tax-exempt organization, and therefore your donation is not tax-deductible. Other than helping to mechanically facilitate donations, this website, Our Maine Beaches, is not responsible for the fundraising effort, has no access to the trust, and plays no role in decisions about disbursement. In summary, any donated funds are controlled entirely by the Plaintiffs in the case.
Please also note that donations to this fund do not create or imply an attorney-client relationship between the donor and any other attorneys associated with the case. Nor do they give the donor any discretion to make decisions regarding the litigation.
Orlando Delogu joined the University of Maine School of Law in 1966 and served as a full-time member of the faculty for 40 years and as emeritus professor of law for 11 years. He helped found the Maine Civil Liberties Union and served on the Board of Environmental Protection, the Portland City Council, and the Portland Planning Board.
